I wrote the science stories and case-studies for this BHF booklet and website area that highlight new developments in BHF funded research, written for heart patients, carers and other stakeholders.
'Shaping the future of asthma research' (Asthma UK 2005,PDF)
On behalf of Asthma UK, I designed, compiled and edited a booklet called 'Shaping the future of asthma research' which conveys the value of asthma research to people with asthma. The booklet, together with an accompnying DVD, was awarded the 'AMRC Science Communication Award, 2005' for engaging patients and carers.
I also made a significant contribution to a publication conveying Asthma UK's research strategy (BARS II) to a non-scientific audience.
Research Excellence Awards (BHF, 2008) PDF
I successfully managed a project to deliver a series of written materials from a group of writers (including myself!) for this brochure to publicise the British Heart Foundation's Research Excellence Awards.

'Contributions to Biomedicine: a continuing story'
I wrote four chapters for this book, published in 2006 by King's College School of Medicine, London, to celebrate the College's centenary. I covered the contributions of King's researchers to our understanding of cell biology, pharmaceutical sciences, cancer and cardiovascular disease.
